Remembering Bill Pollard
Wheaton College celebrates the life and mourns the death of Trustee Emeritus C. William Pollard ’60—a visionary leader whose servant-hearted influence shaped the College for more than five decades. Beginning as a faculty member and CFO in the 1970s, Bill helped lay a foundation for mission-driven leadership that continues to guide Wheaton today.
His influence extended globally through his work as CEO and Chairman of ServiceMaster, where he championed servant leadership—principles that became central to Wheaton’s Board culture. Over 31 years as a Trustee, including two terms as Chair, Bill guided the College with wisdom, generosity, and deep Christian conviction.
In 1997, Wheaton honored Bill and his wife Judy as Alumni of the Year for Distinguished Service to Alma Mater, recognizing their generous giving, visionary leadership, and faithful love for the College. Please join us in praying for the risen Lord Jesus to bless the Pollard family as they mourn and worship in hope.
